Finding it difficult to find toys not made in China

August 30, 2007

After all the recalls that have been occurring in the last few months, parents are becoming more careful when purchasing toys for their children.  I came across an article written by Carly Weeks of the Ottawa Citizen that states just how difficult it is and what parents are thinking.

She writes, “Mattel’s most recent toy recall is serving to fuel a larger backlash against products made in China, which could have a lasting impact on the economy if the situation doesn’t improve, according to Paul Beamish, director of the Asian Management Institute at the University of Western Ontario’s Richard Ivey School of Business in London.

Parents are saying that these companies are only thinking about the money.

Chinese Gender Chart

August 21, 2007

Will your baby be a boy or a girl? This ancient chart is supposed to predict your child’s gender, based upon your age and the month of conception!

They say that the chart was discovered in a tomb and is rumored to be over seven centuries old. How accurate is it? Some will say it is more than 50/50 chance of the chart be correct.  Others say it is 99% accurate, we are saying it’s just for FUN.  Don’t go painting the color of the nursery pink or blue based on the results.

In fact when I used the Chinese Gender Chart on myself with my three pregnancies, 1 out of the 3 pregnancies resulted in the chart determining the correct sex.  Nonetheless, it’s still fun to see what your prediction will be.  ENJOY!
