If any of you live in the Kingston, Ontario area you should make some time to visit the Kingston Baby & Kids Show this Saturday May 3rd and Sunday May 4th, at the Cataraqui Community Centre, 1030 Sunnyside Rd, Kingston ON.

Most of us find it hard to potty train our children. Maybe it’s because we are ready, but they are not. You may find that rewarding your child for taking the steps in potty training may help in the process.
You may reward your child for sitting on the potty or for telling you he/she has to use the toilet. The following are some suggestions of things that have worked for myself and some of my friends. This is to give you an idea of ways you can encourage your child to use the potty.
Potty Chart
Before I began potty training my oldest son, I decided to create a chart with stickers that I knew he enjoyed. Across the top I drew pictures of pants, toilet, toilet paper, flushing and washing hands. There were times my son completed one of these task I rewarded him by having him place a sticker on the tasks he had done, and go over the areas he had forgotten.
Reward Basket
If stickers don’t interest your child the Dollar store is filled with inexpensive “treats” that you can purchase for a small basket of toys and crayons, colouring books etc., call this the “potty reward basket”. Have the basket in the washroom, letting them know that if they use the potty they can choose a toy a day. The reward could be given to them at the end of the day.
Edible Treats
Maybe a candy trick will do the trick. You decide what your child enjoys the best and work with it.

After being totally surprised that she was pregnant, on March 29th in LA, Giada and husband Todd Thompson welcomed their first child, a healthy baby girl, Jade Marie De Laurentiis Thompson weighed in at 5lbs, 13oz.
Giada is a celebrity chef on The Food Network and her husband is a clothing designer.

Actress Halle Berry, 41, and her boyfriend, model Gabriel Aubry, 32, are first time parents after welcoming a daughter this morning, Sunday March 16th. The 7 lbs, 4 oz baby girl arrived at 10:17 am at Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles, CA. Baby’s name is Nahla Ariela Aubry.
Can’t wait to see pictures, with a mother like Halle Berry she must be beautiful.
